What it is #

Genius or Goof is a quick game to play and laugh about with friends. A famous person shows up on a card: an athlete, a singer, an actor, a scientist, a writer, a business founder or an internet star, from today or from history. You give your verdict with one tap: genius, goof, or don't know if you don't know who they are.

Then the card gets its stamp. You see how everyone voted, as a meter and in percentages, how many votes there are, and what the crowd decided: genius, goof, a tie, or "who?" when most people didn't know them. You also see whether you agree with the crowd, and every vote in a row that agrees with it adds to your streak.

Not sure who someone is? Most cards show the person's photo, taken from their Wikipedia article (only photos under a free license). Tap Who's this? on the card to read when they lived and what they are known for, and who took the photo.

  • Each person comes up once on your device; you vote on everyone only once.
  • The crowd's totals count only the votes: nothing in them says who cast which vote.
  • The game plays in English and in Spanish: switch with EN / ES in the menu. Some people show only in Spanish, because they are known mainly where Spanish is spoken.
  • Light by day, dark by night: with the theme on auto (the foot of the menu), the game follows the sun where you are, going by your time zone, and fades to its night colours at dusk, even in the middle of a play. Set the theme to light or dark to keep one.
  • Your profile keeps your stats: votes cast, how often you agree with the crowd, your best streak and more.

The leaderboard ranks players with a free account: the most votes, and the best streak with the crowd. Its top 10 is in the game and on this page.
